Paralegal students at Broadview University’s Layton campus are gaining practical experience through the Layton Family Law Legal Clinic. The legal clinic is a partnership between the Layton campus and Utah Legal Services. The clinic is designed to help low-income individuals who cannot afford legal representation.
Every month, paralegal students work with law school students and volunteer attorneys to help individuals with family issues by assisting to draft their court documents under supervision of the volunteer attorneys.
Paralegal Program Chair Elizabeth Lisonbee and Legal instructor Kyle Hoskins were instrumental in bringing the legal clinic to the Layton campus and work with the students to make sure they are ready to draft the documents for the clinic.
