MSB-Blaine Celebrates National Veterinary Technician Appreciation Week

National Veterinary Technician Appreciation Week was October 14-20, 2012

Minnesota School of Business Blaine Campus Veterinary Technology faculty showed our appreciation to our Veterinary Technology Students by serving them celebratory cake over the course of two days out in the student commons.

Many of the students were not aware that there was a National Veterinary Technician Appreciation Week for them!  It was fun to give the students a treat in between classes as well as to educate them on the celebratory week designed just for their field of study!  Students were surprised and appreciative of the free cake!

The following information is from the NAVTA website navta.net
National Veterinary Technician Week will be held this year from Oct. 14 to 20, 2012.

NVTW has been an annual tradition since June 1993 when a NAVTA resolution was passed declaring the third week in October as NVTW. Activities to celebrate this week have been a focus of the celebratory efforts. The activities serve these fundamental goals:

  • Educate the public about veterinary technicians and what we do
  • Reinforce the value and professionalism of veterinary technicians
  • Provide an opportunity for veterinary technicians to encourage one another for excellent work ethic and team building
  • Acknowledge our quality relationship with veterinarians and other veterinary professionals
